Billed as a quartet project and browsing several musical decades in just five songs, Forbidden Colours {Live Bennett Session} rolls like a film noir soundtrack. The session opens and closes with tender homages to two French music legends, Charles Trenet and Léo Ferré, and signature songs they respectively wrote in the 40’s and 60’s. The vintage collection becomes more mysterious and atmospheric with the album title track Forbidden Colours, unveiling a hidden gem composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian for the 1983 British Japanese movie (starring David Bowie) Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence also known as Furyo. Two original tunes released on Pascalito’s prior albums and newly arranged by Luiz Simas pigment and complete the picture. This is one of the last albums recorded at the Bennett Studios just before the renowned facility run by Dae Bennett (Tony Bennett’s son) closed.
Released in March 2015
